Just noticed a link on eclipse.org to http://www.sdtimes.com/link/34428 saying that IBM will submit EGL to Eclipse in the coming months.

" Think of this most recent stage, Smythe said, "as taking the EGL community tool codebase and open-sourcing out in Eclipse."

Apparently it is the community edition only. It is still a quite important step, and - frankly - one I didn't expect.
