Has IBM ever given the ability to run SQL Scripts from RDi or this new RDP?
Specifically, I want to load SQL that is stored in source member and run
it. I am still on WSDC 7.0 and I know that there is no built in support,
but I have created a custom build command to do it. The problem with that
is errors don't appear in the error list like they do with RPG and CL
programs. Just wondering if support for that has been added, and if not,
what is IBM waiting on?

You can paste SQL into the SQL widget in iSeries navigator. You can even
check your syntax there without executing it, and run visual explain to
see if you need to build any indexes. Of course you need to replace host
variables with literals. It's great for implementation scripts too,
because you can run multiple statements in one swell foop. You can even
do a search and destroy right in the SQL applet to change dev library
names to prod libraries. It's a great tool.
