Hi David,
sorry the delay, some messages goes to spam these days.

if you've maitenance contract with IBM in the v5r4 software as pdm&seu you
CAN ask to IBM or your IBM BP to send to you -free of charge- the "wdsc cd"
distribution, consissts in maybe seven cd, four intended for wdsc itself and
one for hats.
these cd are included in the software version, but sure IBM doesn't ship the
cds to all the shops, simply you will need to ask for.

btw wdsc stands for "websphere development system client" or so.
basically wdsc includes "remote site explorer" for navigating as400 objects,
language editor (color sintaxis, 40 lines or more in screen...) compilers
and so on. but... be sure of understand that you're working (when using
wdsc) sofware with four years and not upgrading ways.
the new version is name Rational Developer for i (RDi) and is priced by
seat.

Good Luck,
Guillermo.

Guillermo,

Our system staff insist that V7 was never delivered with V5R4. Can you give
any more details? Having never had anything to do with an iseries
installation, what exactly did you receive? Did you have to order? Is there
some kind of reference?

Thanks
