Brian, I am using WDSCi 7.0. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

As you suggested I checked the preferences and automatic uppercasing is
disabled (not checked). Also the Style (on the same page) is set to
Endxx. (although this does not seem to effect it either)

Perhaps you have automatic uppercasing enabled. You didn't say which
version of WDSCi/RDi you are using. For RDi 7.5 the setting is found at:
