FWIW, I added the new TEMPLATE keyword to a DS in SEU on 6.1 and it didn't
complain. So it seems features of 6.1 are included in SEU. I wouldn't
count on it after 6.1 though.

Rick;
That would be interesting for someone at 6.1 to try and see if the new op
codes added for 6.1 will work in SEU.

I usually try to avoid these discussions but I do want to make a about
using SEU until it breaks. It is my understanding that with 6.1 SEU will
break. Now, you can still write and maintain RPG code, as well asothers,
but the new compiler operation codes will not be supported. This hasbeen
discussed several times on the RPG and Midrange lists. It doesn't prevent
you from doing your job but it does make it harder. Especially if youare
trying to move forward in your coding.
Would you really want to use an editor that doesn't support the full
features of your coding language?
And in the interest of full disclosure the same thing will happen with
WDSC at 6.1.

I see your point about IBM shooting themselves in the foot with the
structure/pricing they're putting in place. Why not just go back to
SEU\PDM and make the switch to RDi when some distant OS release finally
breaks them? Save the licensing fees for RDi until then.
