Allow me to second the opinion that dual monitors are the way to go,
especially with WDSCi or any other GUI IDE.

In fact, truth be told, at this point I wouldn't work for a company
that didn't allow them. It's not the monitors themselves so much,
just that a company that doesn't allow developers to have dual
monitors obviously doesn't have a clue and just as obviously doesn't
care.

Do you have Windows or Java programmers at your company, do they have
dual monitors?

Good luck!

John,
I would strongly urge you to do some googling on the subject of multiple
monitors and productivity gains.  It has been found that just having a
second monitor can increase productivity over %20 and more depending on
the sizes of the monitors and the tasks being performed.

Try this link for one of the studies
http://www.necdisplay.com/gowide/NEC_Productivity_Study_0208.pdf

There is a lot more out there on the subject.  I have dual monitors and
wouldn't ever go back to one.  I'd like to try out 3 sometime and see how
I like that.

Re: [WDSCI-L] series i navigator window won't restore down

David,

Thanks for the tip. I'm now back in business.  I had a dual monitor set up
and my employer noted it was 'not allowed' and took my toy away (too bad
for
them I think cause it's a great productivity aide). My iseries navigator
screen was always on that second monitor. given what you have said that
the
window 'is probably off the viewable desktop' : it's starting to make some
sense to me.

The window is probably off the viewable desktop when you restore it.
While restored, right-click the entry on the task bar and select Move.
Then use the arrow keys and attempt to move the window to the visible
area.  You may need to try all four directions because it could be off
the screen on any side.  Press enter when you see the window to save
that position.

You can also change the store location in the registry, if you are
comfortable with editing the registry:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM\Client Access
Express\CurrentVersion\AS400 Operations Navigator]
"X pos"="8"
"Y pos"="51"
"Width"="1496"
"Height"="1049"

Good Luck!

Would anyone know which mailing list might have series i navigator 6,1
tips
and fixes? I loaded si34289_32 and now the navigator window launches
minimized into the task bar, only will go to full screen and will not
restore down. Google doesn't show me this issue with navigator.

thanks
