Jeff,

Are you sure you can MOVE the source members (between systems)? I can
COPY source members between systems, but it wouldn't MOVE source members
between systems. I can select the source members and chose MOVE or COPY.
When I choose COPY I can navigate to the target system and paste into the
selected library and source file. However when I choose MOVE, I get a
dialog box, and only the source system is listed in the dialog box.

WDSC *will* move source members between systems.
You need an OBJECT filter on the Target system for the source file(s) in
the library(ies) you want.
On the Source system, you need a filter that will allow you to operate on
the desired member(s).

On the Source system, select the members that you want to copy.
On the Target system, right click on the source file you want to copy into
and select Paste from the menu.

It will then proceede to copy the source and if it already exists in the
target file/member it will display a warning panel to allow you to rename
or override.

WDSC might not move them, but you might be able to use qshell move command
(mv) or the system MOV command using the qsys.lib/yourlib.lib/qclsrc.file
naming system. To do this you would need to add an entry under the
QFileSvr.400 directory for your target system. You might have to create a
file of source members to move, and have a CL program walk the file,
moving
them one at a time.

Moving source members between systems is easy, just like copying from

one

library to another. We normally recompile on the target system, so we
haven't moved objects.

How do you transfer Objects and Source Codes between different Remote
System Connections with RSE? I normally use a SAVEFILE and FTP in a 5250
session. I copied an object from my production side and tried to paste
it in a library on the development side, I received a message saying it
could not do the transfer.
