Kelly, they have split apart the compilers from the client. 5722WDS you get a certain number of licenses based on your tier. Note these license are not client licenses. Now to the client side.

If you are talking about WDSC Basic you have no entitlement for the RDi client but you can contact you IBM rep and there is a feature code that allows you a 40% discount on RDi licensing and I am not sure if that extends to RDi SOA.

If you purchased WDSC Advanced Edition and you are on SWMA then you get a one to one swap to RDi SOA.

We are apparently "entitled" to a certain number of ADTS seats. It
depends on the size of the box you are running. But we get enough ADTS
seats through entitlements that all our developers are covered.

We were also told that if developers want to give up their ADTS seats,
IBM would give us a big discount on the RDI license.

I think the license for RDi is around $900 per seat (based on what I saw
on an IBM web page...actual prices from business partners may vary).

That's all I know at the moment.

Thanks,
Kelly

Subject: [WDSCI-L] 6.1 is here, but no talk of RDi or ADTS

My boss ordered 6.1 (of the OS), and it has arrived. I asked whether
she ordered RDi or ADTS seats, and she said she didn't specify (she
wasn't aware of that situation). So I'm confused. Near as I can tell
from the IBM site, they are now both purchased by seat. The archives
has some talk on it, but it's from about a year ago (and I've been so
hopeful that they'd change the pricing).

What concerns me is that she ordered 6.1 and IBM (I guess the business
partner went belly up and IBM took over the contract) made no mention of
the development seats included (or not included).

She's looking into it, but I thought I'd ask what other people's
experience was in the ordering process of 6.1 in regard to the
additional aspect of buying seats of RDi and/or ADTS.

I've tried to follow the pricing discussion on the threads, but I've
never been involved with purchasing.
