I believe that 7.5 is considered a new version, as opposed to an upgrade.
This is probably partially due to its being based on a new version of
Eclipse. In fact, the new Eclipse base is the only really big feature of
7.5 over 7.1 that I've seen.

Thanks. I purchased 7.1 from by BP. It was not part of any entitlement. I
did find some reference from someone In the archives that if I had ordered
from passport advantage myself I could get 7.5 myself but if I had ordered
via a BP only the BP could order my upgrade. Not sure why the Installation
Manager does not just see 7.5 as an upgrade from 7.1 and get it and install
it.

Near as I could figure from the responses I got to this question, from both
here, and from RDi support, is that if you purchased 7.1 and the
maintenance for that product is current, then you are entitled to an
upgrade. If you got 7.1 as a package with your 6.1 upgrade or hardware,
then you'll have to pay to play, since there is no maintenance on the
package, and its separate from the normal support maintenance.
I can think of all kinds of commentary to add to this fact, but I'm sure
you can to, so I'll leave it to your imagination.

Do I need to purchase a new/upgrade license to go from RDi SOA 7.1 to 7.5?
The Rational licensing site says I have a license to 7.1 and the version of
7.5 that I downloaded has a trial license that has expired. Manage licenses
wants to install a .jar file to license 7.5 and the Rational License center
only lets me download a .upd file
