I don't have any clue why your workbench is crashing. For that you might
check the log-file in the '.metadata' folder in your workspace. If you
can, I would open a PMR with IBM.

As far as the changes you were making being there sometimes--but not
others, check the setting of 'Minutes between saves (1 - 60)' for
'Autosaves' in preferences under 'Remote Systems' then 'Remote Systems
LPEX Editor'. At least that's where it used to be--it may have moved by
the time you get to RDi 7.5.
