I read some more articles on this subject and from it learned that by
setting the file to this


-Xms256m
-Xmx1024m
-XX:PermSize=256M
-XX:MaxPermSize=1024M

I got my best speed and it did not hog the memory by using these settings.

The suggestion was to increase it from 512 to a larger value, such as
1,512.
I went to 1,536 myself. Apparently 512 is what IBM sets on the install.

Its primarily a startup improvement. However, as pointed out, make sure
the workspace is on your local PC, as this affects overall processing
speed.

BTW: My maxSize parm is already 512. I know I didn't do that, unless a
preference somewhere did it.
