From what I've seen, IBM always sells software with 12 month SWMA

included. Now, notice I did say "from what I've seen." Everything I see
on IBM's web pages backs that up--usually including a phrase something
like, "Authorized User License + SW Subscription & Support 12 Months"

When we bought 7.1 we bought the Software Maintenance for it as well.
Not sure if you can buy it without Maintenance, or if there is a 'free
upgrade' period...
