I've had it happen, but only when the compiler can't figure out where
the missing ENDxx needs to be.

IIRC, that's primarily when working with older monolithic programs.

Has this ever worked for anybody? If so please reply. I want to know
your secret.
The problem: If you get a RNF5177 error when compiling or verifying and
you double-clicking on the error WDSC positions the cursor to the first
line of code. It should position to the line in error like other errors
do.

Note that a Verify, does basically a compile on the PC. So it's nice
if you're working remotely or in a disconnected mode.

However, it's not the same as an actual compile on the host. What
happens when you do the compile from WDSCi? Can you click on the
error message then?

Charles

It always happens - compile or verify. Have you ever NOT had it happen?

Kerry, you never said what source type this was... If this is SQLRPGLE,
then the real culprit is the SQL precompiler. This is a well discussed
issue, and so far IBM has avoided making any commitments to fix this.

Eric DeLong

It happens even with RPGLE (no SQL).
