The packaging is the same around the world. The Server-based compilers
and tools have been separated into 3 unique features of WDS and each
feature is licensed on a per developer basis. With an up-to-date Software
Maintenance agreement, however, your company is entitled to a
specific number of licenses dependent on software tier. This might be
the arrangement to which the operations folks are referring.
Or your company may have a special software licensing agreement
in place with IBM and therefore under a slightly different set of rules
with regard to acquiring licenses. That might the arrangement to which
they are referring.
Either way, it is best to check with the Sales Team (either IBM or from
one of our partners) to get the details specifically for your shop.

[WDSCI-L] Question about pricing
I apologize for bringing up this topic again since there has already been
a
lot of animated conversation about it already. I am wondering if anyone in
Canada has worked through the pricing structure for V6R1? From what I
understand from previous postings is that companies are going to be
charged
for what they use as in per seat type of charge. Our operations guy says
Canada is charged differently than the U.S. This may be true but I find it
hard to believe that a totally different pricing structure would be used.
His take on it is that we will have an "enterprise" type of agreement and
includes a "bundle" of all the options in conjunction with a certain
processor grouping.
Does anyone have any knowledge based comments on this?
Thanks,
Rod Verity
