I would get another stick of 1GB memory. It very well could be sitting
there paging stuff back and forth to disk. I don't know if this is still
true, but back in the day the JVM was only ever allowed to consume 50% of a
PC's memory. If that's the case then you are trying to run WebSphere with
512MB which just isn't going to cut it if you want to be efficient :-)

Chances are... it's not the PC.

1 gig RAM, 3 ghz CPU. Hardly anything running. Notes, websphere and
antivirus. Computer still runs like new... I've never downloaded any
software other than office, etc. So the PC is almost like new.

This issue was specifically with WebSphere. It hung up trying to retrieve
the events file, I couldn't get it to stop.

Previous issues have been with WebSphere is self too. When I first
installed, I was able to use for a couple of months, but then one day, it
decided that it would try to load, but would shut itself down with no
error
messages.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Used for a couple of months and again
WebSphere stopped working... but this time there was an error message
about
the JVM. Was able to clear that error message by editing the eclipse.ini
file.

Keep in mind, nothing changed on this PC except for Windows updates.

And now this happens.

Michael,

I started using WDSC for 2 months. I don't have big problem. I
have installed it in my office and in my home pc. Both are OK.
Every PC have different configuration and different software
installed. I cannot solve you problem but I can let you know I have
no problem in using WDSC in my office or in home. So, keep trying.
The problem may not be from WDSC..... may be your PC.....

Nevermind, I got impatient. Forced Websphere to close. Thankfully, it
knew
that the source hadn't been saved yet.

New issue.... I tried to issue a compile and the thing is trying to
retrieving events file. It will not stop.... I've even clicked on the
"red
square" next to the scrolling bar. What do I do? I tried to close out
but
it will not close and I really do not want to do a hard down because
there
are some minor changes in another source that needs to be saved.
