Chenghui,

Did some more testing and found that I can get rid of the error if I
uncheck the box "Search service repositories during installation and
updates". Since I don't know what that means I don't know the impact.

I also have unchecked the box for the "...extensions" repository also.

I'm not sure why IM cann't find the 7004 update for you. If you add the
following repository into IM (File->Preferences), does it make a
difference?

For WDSC:
ates/repository.config"
For WDSC AE:
pd
ates/repository.config"

As a test, can you access the above files using a browser ( check if
it's a firewall issue)? If a broswer works, does it has a proxy set? If
yes then need to set the IM's proxy info as well.

Did a test, IM V1.1.1 works fine for me in finding the V7004 update.

Thanks.

Chenghui,

Thanks for the update. Now how do we get rid of the error message?

Ple note that "
http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/awdtools/wdsc/v7/exte
nsions/"
is defined in the product, but is currently not used. Instead,
"http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/awdtools/wdsc/v7/upd
ates/repository.config"
is the active index file (IM should
be able to find this one by default without any user action). You should
be able to find V7004 update (the latest one).

Thanks.

Group,

I got the same error this morning after updating and when I navigated to
the site manually all there is there is a placeholder.txt. So, at this
point and time I think there are no updates, however I hope that some
one from IBM could comment, maybe blog about it?

Thanks

Subject: [WDSCI-L] The new IBM Installation Manager

Hey everyone,

So I just updated the IBM Installation Manager to the new, blue version
(1.1.1). After using it to check for WDSC updates, it now comes back
with a message that is unclear to me whether or not an error has
occurred. It reads:

"The following repositores are not connected:
http://download.boulder.ibm.com/ibmdl/pub/software/awdtools/wdsc/v7/exte
nsions/

Installation Manager cannot find any updates to install. In order to
access updates, you must configure a respository connection and ensure
that you can access the network or your repository media. Check the
following areas for problems..."

And then it goes on to mention proxy and firewall settings. Can anyone
comment if this indicates an actual connection error or if this is just
IBM's vague new way of saying that it didn't find any software updates?

Thanks!

Jeff
