Thanks - had not seen that - don't usually develop to V5R3 these days.

I suspect it is related to not thinking in terms of the JOIN syntax, maybe it'd work if you do JOINs with the WHERE clause - but that is so restrictive.

I gave the wrong name for the SQL formatter - should be NiceSQL and the site is

Vern,

If you're on WDSCi 7.0, go to Window/Preferences, then expand Remote Systems,
Remote Systems LPEX Editor, iSeries Parsers, ILE RPG, and click on Free-form SQL
Formatting. This is what I'm talking about - it's in there, it just doesn't
seem to cater to JOIN/ON and it would be very nice if it did.

I don't think the autoformat was ever intended for SQL - only real
RPG. Now if you want a formatter for SQL, google on a program called
cutesql - very nice. Takes any statement you have put on the
clipboard and reformats it according to your settings. Then you paste
that result wherever. It does not probably do EVERYTHING exactly as
you'd like, but the developer is very responsive to user suggestions
and problems - or was 5 years ago. He took care of a couple things
specific to iseries for me.
