A couple weeks ago, I commented that I always compiled with
DBGVIEW(*ALL). Unfortunately, I've lost the thread and wasn't able
to respond in time to a comment that was added to my comment.
I had said that I hadn't found a downside to DBGVIEW(*ALL). A
follow-up response was made that the SQL pre-compiler commands only
allowed [*NONE/*SOURCE] so *ALL was not available as a possibility.
I want to point out that there is a CRTSQLRPGI COMPILEOPT()
parameter that allows you to pass options through the SQL
pre-compiler to the language compiler. If you do not specify
anything for the DBGVIEW() parameter on the CRTSQLRPGI command, you
can specify COMPILEOPT(dbgview(*all)) in order to get the module
compiled as DBGVIEW(*ALL).
The COMPILEOPT() parameter is available at V5R3. It can be used for
many of the CRTRPGMOD parameters. I haven't used it for other
languages yet (no SQL outside RPG at the moment).
(I'm a little surprised that no one else mentioned this.)
