I've never done prompting in either so I can't specifically answer that
question, but my guess is that, whatever you can do with a regular menu
(except, as Vern pointed out, multi-columns) you can do with UIM. And a
few more things, like context sensitive help; put the cursor on a menu
option and press F1.
I've never come across a tool for conversion. I use a template that I
use when I re-build a menu as UIM. Since I don't do one from scratch
too often, it's OK. But a tool for, at least, building them (like SDA)
would be nice. Very nice.
