Don't think of it as a tax on Web programmers, think of it as a discount for green screen folk. That's undoubtedly the intent, to only pay for what you actually use. Today, us RPG-only guys have to pay for the development of all the web goodies even though we don't want them.

In a perfect world, Rational would set the prices in such a way that they make money off the base RDi product and the extension too. Since there will be fewer units sold of the extension, and they clearly have a larger development group, that _should_ mean a decent discount for those of us who buy only the base product.
