Why do you want to use an applet?

Applets may complicate (or not) your life. Is the web page going to be served by the same iSeries running the program? If not, you need to sign the applet, and you'll get in some other complications. Do you have tomcat or Websphere, or something similar running in your shop?

Subject: [WDSCI-L] Trying to get my arms around this subject-

Using WDSC V7:

How do you create an independent SQL program on the System i that can be
used by a Java applet on a client PC to retrieve and update data on the
System i?

Can this SQL program interact with other ILE environment programs like RPGLE
and what if any are the restrictions?

Are there any Redbooks, Knowledge Based Articles, Example Code or any other
information available on the internet related to this?

Thank you!
