You can either download the WAS update installer and use it to apply the fixpack manually, or you could apply the Feature Pack for Web Services Option (which you can do after upgrading to 7.0.0.4...just go into IBM Installation Manager and "Update Packages"). There will be two options for the Feature Pack for Web Services, one just above the WAS tree and one in the WAS tree. Taking both is the safest thing.

If 6.1.0.9 is good enough, I'd apply the options through the IBM Installation Manager. I've seen updates fail if the WAS server was updated outside of IM.

I am helping to research an issue where an application is specified to run on WAS v6.1.0.9 or higher, and we are customizing the application and testing locally in WDSC 7.0.
We are curious if the WAS v6.1 development test server which comes with WDSC 7.0 can be upgraded to meet the minimum version requirements of the application?
After running all the updates via installation manager, the version appears to be 6.1.0.2 .

Can I run the downloadable fixpack to upgrade the WDSC bundled WAS server? Or would that create problems?
