True ... but there's a SWT implementation available for most popular
platforms (OSX included).

OSX Carbon works quite well. OSX Cocoa not quite so well. Of course, I'm
not a Mac guy, so I don't know what that means I the real world, but I do
know that there are always Cocoa issues in the SWT bug reports.

Don't be. Lots of things don't work in 64-bit Windows. Lots of drivers
simply don't exist, and many of the vendors don't seem particularly
interested to keep up.
