I reported the problem with the SQL conversion to Free Form and have
gotten an answer from IBM that is very close to the original answer when
it was reported on V6.

The following is the initial response for the most recent reporting.

Hello Bill,

The issue with the SQL not converting correctly will be fixed in a
furture release. There is an APAR SE25187 for it. I am uclear whether
they mean an actual release or a furture fix pack. I have asked and I
will let you know.

I responded;

Thank you. I had reported this almost a year ago and the reply I got
from IBM was, "Unable to duplicate problem in future release." That was
on release 6, now the same thing is being said on release 7. I realize
that you are not the one that should take the blame. It is frustrating
to listen to IBM hawking a product and threatening to remove support for
a product that works.

Any ideas or hints as to when this future release will come to fruition?

And this is the most recent response

Hi Bill,

One one knows yet when a new release will be out. No even the developers
yet. 7.0 is still new.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

I just got my Beta release of RPGTOOLBOX and it converts all SQL to Free
Form correctly, it also recognizes SQL variables as being used in the
program. I wonder why IBM hasn't been able to do this?
