Hi List,

Has anyone had any success in setting up iSeries connections to be
shared by a team through the WDSC "Team.Share" feature?

I seem to have everything working now, but there are a few steps in the
setup procedure that I don't understand. Can anyone explain them?

a) To get ready for sharing from a new WDSCv7 installation:
a.i) In the Remote Systems Explorer perspective, in the Remote
Systems view, click the menu arrow (small downwards-pointing white
arrow)
a.ii) Click "Work with profiles"
a.iii) Expand the "RemoteSystemsConnections" list
a.iv) Right-click the word "private" and select "Rename". Change to
anything other than "private".
b) Right-Click the "RemoteSystemsConnections" word in the "Team" view,
and select "Team|Share".
c) To download and use the "Team" iSeries connections:
c.i) Select the CVS repository server and press the Next button
c.ii) Select "Use Project name as module name" and Next
c.iii) You may be asked for a password, which must be entered (the
anonCVS user's password is <removed>.)
c.iv) Select "Head" and click Next
c.v) De-select "Launch commit wizard" and click Finish.
c.vi) In the "Team" view, right-Click the "RemoteSystemsConnections"
word and select the "Team|Switch to another Branch or Version" submenu
option.
c.vii) Select "Use the tag currently associated..." and click Finish.
Sometimes "errors" popup, but they are usually "file already exists" and
can be ignored.
c.viii) In the "Team" view, right-Click the "RemoteSystemsConnections"
word and select the "Reload Remote System Explorer" menu option.

If I commit any changes to the Team connections (e.g. add a new command
or filter) then the team members need to do steps (a.i), (a.ii), (c.vi),
(c.vii) and (c.viii) again.

I do not understand steps (a.iv) and (c.vi) to (c.viii). It took ages
for me to work them out, but I eventually stumbled across them by
accident. Does anyone know why those extra steps are necessary?

Best regards,
Paul.
