Thanks Mike and Brian.

I am downloading RAD 7.0 and RBDe 7.0.0.3 now and will use that (hopefully)
to go through the tutorials. I also registered for the classes in Sept/Oct
as well.

Thanks again for your responses,

Gregg

Gregg,

This is a known bug when running RBDe V7 with WDSC. It is generating
garbage
in one line of the alcustomers.jsp source. I ran across it and reported it
to Jon Sayles when taking the distance learning classes a month ago. Jon
Sayles passed it along to the developers but I haven't received any
response
back from the WDSC team on this error or any of the other errors I
encountered when trying to use WDSC and RDBe V7. I had to give up on WDSC
and install RAD in order to complete the classes. It's most frustrating
that
the WDSC release schedule is so far behind RAD. RAD 7.0.0.3 and RBDe
7.0.0.3 have been out for over a month now and still no word when WDSC
7.0.0.3 will be available.

I recommend you download and install the trial of RAD 7.0.0.3 and upgrade
your copy of RBDe to 7.0.0.3 so that you don't have to deal with manually
correcting the .jsp source. RAD will happily coexist with WDSC on the same
machine. Hopefully, by the time your trial period for RAD is up, WDSC
7.0.0.3 will have been released and you can go back to using WDSC with
RBDe.

Kind regards,

BJ

I have WDSc 7.0.0.1 and finally got EGL installed (my version of EGL
from
Passport will not install on 7.0.0.2 due to package conflicts). I have
been
going through the 'Introducing EGL (a quick-start guide)' via
Help>Tutorials
Guide. I keep running into a JSP Processing error when attempting to run
the
allcustomers.jsp on the server. After the first time, I deleted the
project
and EAR and started all over only to get the same error. I have noticed
that
the tutorial looks like it may have been designed for version 6.0 as
some
controls are a little different so I could be missing something in my
version.

Anyways, below is the JSP error page. May be someone on this list has
attempted to go through this tutorial or an IBMer could respond.

JSP Processing Error *HTTP Error Code: 500*
