I don't have an answer to your question but a question from me to you.

I just installed Subversion on my i5 last week (surprisingly uneventful - a
good thing) and in my ignorance was simply hoping to compile RPG from the
IFS. Turns out that Subversion holds all of the source in some sort of
proprietary format which won't allow compiling from the IFS so it looks like
iSeries Projects are my only option.

With that said my question relates to how iSeries Projects glue together
with Subversion. Do you first create an iSeries Project over an entire
library and then do a Team->Share Project to get it into Subversion? How do
you separate out code in Subversion (e.g. one library per repository)? This
is of course assuming that the goal is to have all your source managed by
Subversion and the Library/SourceFile/Member approach is now just used for
compiles.

The bummer here is that iSeries Projects is needed as an in-between and
wasn't built with Subversion in mind, and also that you have to not only
sync with Subversion but also push source changes back up to the
Library/SourceFile/Member area for other developers to make use of.

BTW, the main reason I see for using Subversion is simply to utilize tools
like subclipse for comparing versions of a source file and then obviously
being able to see iterative versions of source files.

Thanks for any time spent replying,

Subject: [WDSCI-L] WDSC 6, Subclipse and iSeries projects

Hi list!

Today I started experimenting with Subclipse under WDSC 6. I have been
working with Subversion in the past so I was hoping to be right on track
quickly.

The plan is to use Subclipse / Subversion for iSeries projects (ILE RPG and
such).

So far it's working quite OK but I have a tiny problem:

Whenever I checkout projects that are new to a workbench they will only be
listed in the Navigator window but not in the iSeries-Project Navigator -
refresh doesn't work. I actually have to reopen WDSC to be able editing
source members.

I am using WDSC 6.0.1 with Interim Fixpack 6.0.1.3.

Wonder if anyone experienced the same issue?
