IBM Rational has another new name - EGL is now called Rational Business
Developer Extension. This just makes it harder for us to know where to
find it - heh!
Business partners who have the Software Access Catalog option can download
the eAssembly there - there are 2, a trial and a full (I assume) version.
You won't find version 7 under the old name.
More info on EGL can be found at developerworks at
http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/products/egl/
I was intrigued by the possibilities this product gives our customers. See
what y'all think.
This is not quite true, Vern.
EGL is still EGL, and in fact there is thought to submitting the language to
the standards committees. RBDE is IBM's tooling for the language. I've
written several articles on EGL both in MCPress Online and in IBM System
Magazine; it's quite a powerful tool, but we're still waiting to get
information on pricing for System i developers.
