Hmmm - "all wet and having a senility moment" - What *I* recall is that
you were "positive" towards VA-RPG, but I don't remember why. Again, as
*I* recall - I liked the fact that AVR used a "Windows" GUI design
(which I was accustomed to), vs. a "OS2" design, which I was NOT
accustomed to. Another reason was that I was able to accomplish what I
wanted to do with AVR, and had more difficulty (to the point of giving
up) with VA-RPG. Definitely doesn't mean that what I was attempting to
do couldn't be done in VA-RPG...

OTOH, I'm kinda used to being wet, and senior moments are something,
though frustrating, that I have great experience with...in more ways
than one. :-)

BTW, ASNA training was very good, and with the hiring of Roger Pence had
only gotten better. (I say "had" because with the new (read Windoze)
direction that management is taking, I haven't had any recent training.)

I worked with Dave at the time that his company was looking at ASNA's
product and at VA-RPG and CODE. At the time, I have to say that VA-RPG
was rejected partly because ASNA was much more proactive in training.
Claus would have been glad to come to your company to train you , but
that was all there was - Dave can confirm this or say I'm all wet and
having a senility moment. But that was the beginning of my hate-hate
relationship with CODE - I am better now - I do use WDSC without too
much complaint - heh.

I hear you. Just as a point of information, IBM's VARPG allows you to
use whatever icons you like. Making icons is part of the fun! ;)

Well, I've been reading all these VARPG comments - and would like to

add to the confusion - that there is another product put out by
ASNA, which they call AVR - or ASNA Visual RPG - that works off of
.NET and will give you all the fun you could ever want.

The thing I liked about it the most was that the IDE used the MSFT
icons, etc., that I was used to. You can do any kind of windows gui
programming you like. Way cool company as well. Unfortunately, OUR
company is trying to get rid of the AS/400/iSeries/etc., so I can't
program in it any more.

You should try it out! It isn't going away!!
