If you have the filter pools turned on you can work with Filter Pools which
takes you to the team view in RSE at least in WDSCi 6. You are able to copy
filters from one filter pool to another by using the copy and paste and then
delete any duplicate filters that you don't need. This seemed to work more
consistantly than the move filter for me.

Hope this make sense.

Cheri,

This sounds really good.
So if I understand correctly, I need to set up the filters under each
filter pool,
I don't see a way to move a filter to a filter pool or am I missing
something?

Thanks,

Dave

In the RSE Explore where your connections are is a small black arrow in
the
upper right that contains more options.

If you click on it there will be a menu option to "Show Filter Pools" .
Once
you select it will add a level when you expand your connection.

For example under iSeries Objects it will now show the Filter Pool and you
will need to expand this to see your filters. Once you have the filter
pools
turned on to view you can right click on the iSeries Object level and
choose
the "Select Filter Pools menu option.

This will allow you to assign or take away filter pools from that level of
a
connection.

So for each of your connections you could set up a filter pool, assign it
to
the connection and when you create the filters select the correct filter
pool that it belongs in. Once you have things set you could then turn them
off again from showing up if you don't like the extra level to click into.

If some of your iSeries connections share the same libraries you could
make
a common Filter pool and connect it to both connections. The connection
can
have multiple filter pools.

Key is to turn on the filter pools so you can see them and then when you
right click you will have the option to select filter pools as long as you
are on iSeries Objects, Commands or jobs.

Is there a way to change a filter to only show up under one connection if
you didn't check the box when you created it?

tia,
