Ok, Here's the situation. I've been working on getting the approval to use WDSCi v6. Now IBM as gone and released v7 which ordinarily I'd be happy about; however our development system is still on v5r2. Since WDSCi v7 doesn't officially support v5r2, I'm thinking we may be better off running v6. But I'm not sure if anybody knows where the v6 media ended up or if it was ever even ordered. We should at least have WDSCi v5 media somewhere. On the other hand, Violaine said that v7 will work with v5r2 and v5r2 itself will be unsupported soon; so perhaps we should just install WDSCi v7. Can we even order the WDSCi v7 media if we don't currently have a box at v5r3 or v5r4? Would we have to get an order placed for i5/OS v5r4 first? If we can get WDSCi v7, does IBM licensing allow for down-level installation of v6? I know Microsoft used to/ still does allow this for some (most? / all?) their products. Assuming of course we can get our hands on the v6 media. Thoughts? Comments? Charles Wilt This e-mail transmission contains information that is intended to be confidential and privileged.
