The idea of IBM unbundling these products and charging for component usage is absurd. Their past pricing/billing/invoicing debacles still have me rubbing dirt from my eyes. Every penny that goes to WDSCi is one less penny available for training. We've paid the interactive tax for years. And now that there's alternatives that may eliminate it, this scheme appears to be another attempt at another 'tax' increase (in disguise). Even at the fictional $300 a seat for the components - does that mean I pay once for my pc at work and pay again for my pc at home? Sorry George, but that's not going to fly either. So this again boils down to the fact that if IBM would MARKET the i, they'd probably have enough income to cover the wdsci development for the i, and we wouldn't need to be having this conversation.
