My problem is not getting the correct compile command (CRTRPGMOD vs. CRTBNDRPG). The problem is that the default compile creates the object in the source library. We have many source libraries and each has its own object library. I was hoping for a keyboard shortcut to run the Compile (Prompt) that would allow me to specify the object library.
This sounds like the sort of case that is made for having multiple connections to the same server. As far as I know, each connection has its own set of compile commands. So, you could set up a connection for each combination of (srclib, objlib), then in each connection, go to 'Compile -> Compile -> Work with Compile Commands'. From there, you can copy the IBM supplied command, and put in the values you want for the libraries in SRCFILE and MODULE (or PGM for CRTBNDxxx). The Ctrl+Shift+C shortcut picks the last compile command you used (without remembering any values you filled in if you chose 'Compile -> Compile (Prompt)'), so if you create your custom command as above, then execute it manually once, you can happily Ctrl+Shift+C from there on out. I used to have just such a custom compile command set up for creating modules into production - I think you can probably guess why I don't have that set up anymore :) HTH, Adam Attention: The information contained in this message and or attachments is intended only for the person or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or privileged material.
