I don't mean automatically doing a "refresh". I mean when I add a line to a source member D myvar s 10a Then myvar would show in the outline view without hitting refresh. More importantly, "myvar" would be available via Code Assist at that time to. Since the syntax checker usually knows when the definition is complete it would seem that it should be possible to update the outline view. In addition, the Java editor works this way. There's no "refresh" needed to make variables/procedures available to Code Assist in Java. It's just a little frustrating to code a procedure interface and a bunch of local variables then have to refresh the outline view before I can use any of them in Code Assist. Thanks, Charles Wilt
