Mark, I have addressed this issue with the IBM people a couple of times. I don't know how far they have gone with a solution, but your request should help with moving the priority up on the list. Good morning everyone, I am trying to find a way, in WDSc, to cut & paste (or drag & drop) the alias names of externally described files, that I am using in my Cobol program, into my Cobol source. Our files are generated by Synon and therefore all the field names are 6 characters long, so RPG can use them. Us Cobol bods use the alias names as the are much more descriptive but much longer to type. Does anyone know of an easy way to do this?
