Outline View in Projects Perspective

Does anyone have problems refreshing the outline view while in the projects perspective? Whenever I try WDSC grabs virtually all my memory and locks up my system and never completes. 
I end up having to kill everything and reboot.
And not to start a flame but for WDSC t be at version 6 with all the issues that still remain seems crazy. It operates more like an RC or a 1.0 at best. I would surely hate to think that PDM and SEU were removed and I was forced to use WDSC for everything. Especially since it contains no way to run interactive 
commands or programs and no way to design screens or printer files.
