Losing Plugins

I am at the latest version of RSE (I just checked and no updates
available).  I had installed 2 plug-ins, (Surveyor and Softlandings).
When I updated RSE the plug-ins disappeared.  I tried reloading them and
it said they were already there.  I can see them when I found the
plug-in list but they no longer appear on the toolbar.  Two questions;
1.  Why did they go away when I did an RSE update and 2.  How do I get
them back on the toolbar?
