Jerry,

Which version of WDSC are you using?

The debug session invoked by SEP does not use the connection used by RSE.
So you should not have any problems doing your RSE operation while the
debug session is running. Maybe you could give me more details of the
problem.

In fact, SEP invocation could not be used to debug any user program
running in the RSE server job (by design) to avoid the freezing up of RSE
when debugging user program.

[WDSCI-L] Multitasking in WDSCi

I have a program currently running in debug (SEP) that is checking a data
queue every 15 seconds for entries. While there are no entries, the
program 'sleeps' for a specific period of seconds (15) and then it checks
the data queue.

Since this is a test, I don't expect any subsequent processing to happen
for about another hour.

So the question is, is there a way I can use RSE to work on other stuff
(eg. start writing another program) without interrupting the SEP debug
session?

When I've tried in the past to do anything remotely resembling this, such
as browsing source in the RSE perspective, I've managed to crash/trash the

debug session.

Would another workbench do the trick? Or are there other perference
settings that would enable this?

Regards, Jerry
