if dropping or shortening a field, there is a warning msg to be answered.you can chg the dft reply of that msg to "I" to ignore since Websphere is a batch process. The default reply is "C" to cancel. I don't have access to system where last ran into this and how we coded, but you should be able to set up a test to see that msg in a joblog.

Will CHGPF work if you change a field name? How will it map from the old name to the new name? Steven Morrison Fidelity Express 903-885-1283 ext. 479 "Marchini, Richard" <richard.marchini@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: wdsci-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 01/31/2007 04:24 PM Please respond to Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx cc Subject [WDSCI-L] CHGPF in WebSphere All, When I attempt to do a CHGPF command using a source member that has been changed (i.e. different field name, etc.) I get a spool file that says the file was created in QTEMP (just as if I had done the command from a green-screen command line) but the attributes of the file don't change. I'm doing a CHGPF so that I don't lose existing data in the file. Any ideas?
