I don't think you can change this behaviour easily.  I'm pretty sure that 
the iSeries Commands Log view is opened any time a command is executed 
from the RSE - including compile commands.  My suggestion would be to drag 
it somewhere out of the way.  Make it the far left tab in the same group 
of tabs as the iSeries Error List view.  Then, when you compile, the 
commands log will temporarily get focus, but will be covered again by the 
error log once the event file is retrieved.
