David,

I'd have to warn you against using the "cleanup" option in RPU.

I've used it twice so far, and each time something stopped working (in the 
Web perspective IIRC).

So my advice would be to use it with extreme caution.

I believe that's what the 'Clean Up' button is for on the 'Rational 
Product Updater' 'Installed Products' tab.
