Hi Ann, Is the IP address in "remote location (ip address)" the correct TCP/IP address of your PC? If it is, then the most common reason for this error is that some firewall software on your PC is blocking the incoming socket connection from the iSeries to the PC (Windows XP SP2, zonelabs, norton internet security, etc...) You would need to configure a firewall rule to allow the connection from your iSeries to the PC on port 4300. From the Green Screen when I run this command after about 60 seconds I
get this error, "Error connecting to Remote Systems Explorer. The STRRSESVR command could not create a TCP/IP connection to the Remote Systems Explorer (RSE) at remote location (ip address) on port 4300. Possible causes: The iSeries RSE communications daemon has not been started on the client. The remote location name is not a correct TCP/IP hostname or address. The iSeries RSE communications daemon is listening on a different port number. Start the iSeries communication daemon and verify that the remote location name and port are valid. : Message ID RSE2001 I need help with the possible solutions. Ann C.
