Automatic Update Search problems

I recently changed my automatic updates from checking every time WDSc
started to every day during lunch.  The only issue that I had before was
the slow-down when I first started WDSc.  I moved it to lunch time so
that it can perform the check while I am not using my PC.  Now I am
receiving an "Automatic Update Search (Error: Network connection
problems encountered during search.)" error message.  

The details of the message are:
"Network connection problems encountered during search.
  Unable to access [url]
    Error parsing site stream. [White spaces are required between
publicId and systemId.]
    Error parsing site stream. [White spaces are required between
publicId and systemId.]"

Where the [url] is a reference to the version control software I use
with Visual Studio but not with WDSc.  I can manually run IBM Rational
Product Updater and it completes successfully.

Any ideas?
