Hey Thanks Buck! That was my primary problem - when cutting and pasting - and I never tried doing it from bottom to top. I'll incorporate that immediately. Many Thanks Rick DuVall Systems Manager Dealer's Auto Auction of Okc 1028 S. ...but the intrusiveness of the error messages takes most of the joy out of it and slows me down no end always jerking my cursor back to the left margin.
I've learnt to use the cursor up key rather than Enter or cursor down. Let's say I've copied a bunch of DDS into my D specs so I can create a data structure loosely based on the DDS. Pasting DDS into RPG makes the syntax checker paint my screen pink (like it's supposed to!) If I want to do the same thing to all lines (like add an underscore), if I put the underscore and press arrow down, the cursor goes left. If I press the up cursor, the cursor doesn't change columns. So I tend to work my way through a stack of errors from the bottom to the top... --buck
