We hear you! That why we made the more common RSE preferences quickly available via the "triangle" menu in the RSE tree view (this should be easier than the Windows->Preferences route). Click on the triangle, then Preferences->iSeries Parsers Column sensitive editing should be on the first page.
One of the most important things I got out of the WDSC Roadshow a while back is: "Check the triangle menus!". There are some good things in there most of the time. As a result, I also found out that Ctrl+F10 opens the triangle menu for the current view.
