Adam: thanks for the help. I closed everything, restarted my workbench, started a debug session and lo and behold the hover now displays the values. I'm still going through the help but can only find how to display values under the Monitor Tab (and Memory Tab).
There was a post in a recent thread about this - something to do with not leaving source members open when restarting the workbench. You may want to try closing all your source members, restarting the workbench (and maybe your PC?).
