It is possible to debug a program whose source resides in another iSeries. Right click on the program you want to debug, and choose Debug As (Prompt) --> XXX (type of the debug options) to bring up its launch configuration dialog. Switch to the Source tab of this dialog, and press Add... button to invoke Edit Source Lookup Path dialog. Then select "iSeries Source File" and press ok. You will get a Select one or more source physical file dialog. In the dialog, you could define a new connection to the other host if the connection has not been defined yet. Then expend this connection, choose either "*LIBL" or "Work with libraries" filter, to get to your library. Then expend the library to select the source physically file (stop here, don't go and select the member). This source physically file will be added to the search path of the source member. You could add multiple source physical file by those steps. When you invoke the debug session, your source should be found and loaded. Please be aware that it does not work for debug session invoked by SEP, since SEP is invoke automatically. For SEP, when the session is up, there will be a button call "Edit Source Lookup Path" in the fake editor. Click on it to invoke the Edit Source Lookup Path dialog mentioned above. But the settings will not be remembered (this is in the list of debugger requirements). I have been debugging in our production system since we took all source off. CL programs don't like being debugged over there though regardless of the DBGVIEW. I will assume that would be the case through WDSc also. -- This is the Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries (WDSCI-L) mailing list To post a message email: WDSCI-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/wdsci-l or email: WDSCI-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/wdsci-l.
