Thanks Bill Barnes Sr Analyst/Programmer The Pantry, Inc 919-774-6700 ext 5211 Thanks for the info it helped a lot. We are on version 6.01.01. Desktop is 2.4 GHz 1Gb memory and 7200RPM 40Gb hard drive with 16Gb free. Have you tried fixing errors on an SQLRPGLE program? I know it is a pain in SEU because the errors are somewhat nebulous, but at least SEU did not replace my SQLRPGLE source with the QTEMP RPGLE source and let you think you are fixing code that you really aren't. Have you attempted to convert an SQLRPGLE program to FREE and have your SQL code so messed up that you have to restore the member? These things should have been worked out before the release was made public. I guess I have been spoiled, in the past when IBM released something it worked 99.99% of the time right out of the box. I expect new releases from MS to not work because they never do. There are many things IBM could have copied from MS but not this one. Anyway thanks for the help. To the person who mildly chastised me for not looking in the archive first. I would have if I knew it existed and knew how to get to it. :-) Bill Barnes message: 1 date: Fri, 27 Oct 2006 11:39:45 -0400 from: AGlauser@xxxxxxxxxxxx subject: Re: [WDSCI-L] Viewing 2 source Bill Barnes wrote on 27/10/2006 11:26:22 AM:
I see that you can bring up multiple source members at the same time, but can I view 2 at the same time like in SEU?
You can do even better than that if you want to. Click on the tab for source that is being edited. Drag to the side, top or bottom of the editor view, until your cursor changes to an arrow and there is a grey box which only covers part of the editor area. Now you will have source members side by side! You can also have two view of the same source member, but hitting Ctrl+2 (or right-click some source->View->Open new view) if you have WDSC version 6. I'm pretty sure this has come up before - it's always a good idea to check the archives before posting. Even if you can't find the right search terms, it makes people a lot more willing to answer your questions if you've established that you at least *tried* to figure the solution out on your own.
With the bugs and shortcomings in this product I feel like an early
beta
tester. I am alone in feeling this way?
You still haven't told us what version of WDSC you are using. If you are using 5.x or lower you will notice many more problems than if you simply get the latest version. Can you be more specific about what "bugs" you are encountering? Even in the 5.x versions, where there were many more problems than v.6, I didn't feel like a beta tester.
