Vadim, Thank you for the update on this topic. It is a huge help to know this is on the horizon somewhere. Will make the Web Projects much more usable. How soon - maybe within 6 months? I was just wondering if I should create a PMR and so you have saved me that effort. We appreciate your reply. Thanks. I know that this must be a bit frustrating... Here is the best answer I can offer at this point: JSF Relational Record component can be configured using Physical Files in V6 timeframe. There is work under way to add Logical File support as well. We understand the importance, and putting high priority on this line item. Future release(s) of WDSC should satisfy this requirement. Hope this is of some help Vadim iSeries Application Modernization "Flagler, Richard E., Jr \(Rick\)" <rick.flagler@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: wdsci-l-bounces+berestet=ca.ibm.com@xxxxxxxxxxxx 10/04/2006 10:07 AM Please respond to Websphere Development Studio Client for iSeries <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To <wdsci-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject [WDSCI-L] How do I for WDSc Dynamic Web Project <http://www.timken.com> Rick Flagler Manager, Information Technology Projects The Timken Company Mail Code: KNE-01 7 Optical Avenue Keene, NH 03431-0547 U.S.A. I searched the archives to no avail for a posting about experiences with trying to use an SQL View (rather than a Table) in a Dyanmic Web Project. I have been told that Java Server Faces does not recognize an SQL View. Since views and tables are similar in iSeries DB2 world, I did not believe this. Sure enough, we have been unable to use a View when creating the Relational Record List or Relational Record for a project page. Does anyone have experience with this and /or know a trick to make it work? When we create the connection to the database, the connection does not appear to have a setting that "allows views and tables". When we create a relational record list for the page, I do not see it there either. Maybe I am missing a setting preference somewhere? If this is true, that current JSF supports only Tables, is there an IBM plan to add Views? Sooner rather than later? ;) Not having Views would be sort of like getting 1/2 of DB2, right? Thank you.
