David,

What happens (or doesn't happen) when you try to enter "*****" in column
7? I am able to do it in an RPG member.

Take a look at the column sensitive editing option under LPEX Editor
Parsers in preferences. If this is checked the code won't shift and you
can't enter anything once the first field in the spec fills up. Uncheck
the box and I think it will work.

When we comment out blocks of code, we use "*****" in column 7.
I can't do this efficiently in LPEX. Instead, I have to leave
LPEX, open the member in SEU, create a line with **** and
copy this line over the lines of code with "OO".
This is totally ridiculous. There must be another way.
