David, What happens (or doesn't happen) when you try to enter "*****" in column 7? I am able to do it in an RPG member. Take a look at the column sensitive editing option under LPEX Editor Parsers in preferences. If this is checked the code won't shift and you can't enter anything once the first field in the spec fills up. Uncheck the box and I think it will work. Rick
